Is the Voyager Electric Scooter Waterproof?
Electric scooters are becoming more and more popular. They are a great way to quickly move yourself reasonably long distances without using public transport. Across the UK and Europe they are seen as a great way to leave the car at home.
The biggest issue we face in Britain is our weather, specifically rain.
With this in mind, one of the most important questions to ask becomes is this electric scooter waterproof?
Typically the answer is no. Many manufacturers state that their e-scooters should not be ridden in the rain. There may be reference to water resistance but the guidance from the people that make the product is not to ride them in the rain. It is important to check the manufacturers guidance on the scooter that you are considering purchasing.
You will see waterproofness referred to as an IP rating, which covers all the way from a product providing zero water resistance all the way through to being fully waterproof. In short, the higher the numbers, the better equipped the scooter is at keeping water out.
The other thing to bear in mind is the warranty. While a scooter may be rated as IP65 water resistant, the warrant may not cover the electric scooter for use in wet weather. Ensure that both your electric scooter and its warranty mean you are able to use your e-scooter in the good old British weather.
